Owners' Classes

General Information: You receive free machine owners and software classes if you purchased your machine or program from us; others pay $30.00 per session. For machine owners' classes, bring you machine, its accessories, bright-colored thread (embroidery thread for your embroidery machine and 4-8 different colors for your serger, scissors, and your instruction book. You will need to purchase an owners' workbook at your class. For software classes, if you bring your laptop with your program loaded and an external mouse, you can work along with us. Classroom size is limited to call to reserve you space early.

Baby Lock & Janome Serger Owners: June 17 from 9:30-3 OR 6-9

In this basic class for serger owners, you will sew samples of various techniques to use for future reference.

Evolve, Cover Stitch, & 1200D Owners: June 19 at either 9:30 OR 6:00

This class addresses the chain stitch and cover stitch features of your machine and extra attachments.

Sewing Machine Owners’ Class: Our next class will be held after the fair and Baby Lock Tech. That will be in late August or early September.

The first class session is for all new sewing machine owners. We will cover proper care of your machine; needles, thread, and presser foot know-how; and using basic stitches. Following sessions will go into greater detail on computer machines. The more features your machine has, the more classes you will have.

Embroidery Machine Owners’ Class : July 8, 9, & 10 at either 9:30 OR 6:00

Learn about the embroidery features of your machine. In the first class we will discuss stabilizing, hooping methods, embroidery threads, and needles. This first class is a prerequisite to those that follow.

If you would like to have a class on Palette, Customizer, Digitizer Pro, or Designer's Gallery Studio, CustomWorks, or MasterWorks, give us a call and we'll set something up that will work for you.

Clubs

NOTE: To join any of our clubs, just come in and sign up, or call to register (574-862-4207). It is important that you sign up each month, so that we can properly prepare for the club.

UFO Club: July 7 from 9:30-3:00

This club is for you if you have UnFinished Objects (projects) lurking in your sewing room. We sew for the day, working to finish those projects. The club meets on the first Monday of the month. NOTE: Club fee is $3.00 per session.

Sewing Lovers' and Embroidery Club: July 14 at 9:30 OR 6:15

The club is free if you own one of our embroidery machines and free for one year if you purchase a new sewing machine from us. All others pay $6 per session. Each month we share sewing and embroidery tips and enjoy show-and-tell. We're starting the Family Reunion block a-month quilt. Thimbleberries meets as a part of this club.

Hands-on Club :

This club normally meets the 4th Monday of the month; cost of the club is $6.00 per session. We won't be having Hands-on Club in July.

Creative Classes

Thangles Table Runner: June 18 from 10:00-3:00 OR June 18 & 19 from 6:30-8:30

If you're a beginning quilter, move on from basic strips and squares to half-square triangles. Sally will teach you to make this table runner with stars, using thangles to make the star points. You will piece, quilt, and bind for a finished product in two classes. Cost: $20.00 plus supplies.

Take 5 Quilt or Jacket: May 21 and 28 from 9:30-3:00

The first week you will take 5 minutes, choose 5 fabrics, and with Janet's help in 5 hours you will have a quilt top or the pieced fabric for a jacket. The second week you will quilt your quilt top or make your jacket: Cost: $30.00 plus supplies.

Serger Quilt: June 10 from 9:30-3:30 OR June 10 & 12 from 6-9

Create a fast and easy quilt top with strip piecing using your serger. Or you can rent one of ours to use during the class. Cost: $25.00 plus supplies.

COMING IN JULY

As part of Sewing Lovers' Club, we will be starting the block-a-month Family Reunion quilt from Pearl Louis Designs. Sara Mundy has the sample quilt ready for you to see. Be sure to sign up early for this neat quilt so that we can get enough patterns and kits ready. If you cannot attend Sewing Lovers' Club but would like to make the quilt, you could pick up your kit any time during the week after club.

	ONLINE CLASSES FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME!
You can get even more out of your Designer's Gallery software and Baby Lock products with Sew@Home online classes. Sew@Home is a collection of hour-long like and pre-recorded classes that will teach you basic functions of your software as well as help you discover new techniques, shortcuts and more. Ask us for details on how you can register for these classes.

Class Policies

CLASS POLICIES

All class supplies must be purchased at Jeanette’s Fabric Boutique (You will receive a 10% discount).

YOU MUST SIGN UP AND PAY AT LEAST 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE.
To receive a refund, you must cancel at least one week in advance.
You need to bring your own machine for hands-on classes or make arrangements in advance to rent one.
Scissors and basic sewing supplies are necessary for all hands-on classes.
For owners' classes, you must have your machine, its accessories, scissors,the instruction book, brightly-colored thread (4 different colors of thread for sergers--8 for an Evolve), and embroidery thread for embroidery machines.
For quilt classes, you need a rotary cutter, mat, and rulers.
Minimum enrollment for a class to be run is 3 people, so we will cancel one week ahead if enrollment does not warrant offering a class.
